Lattice software receives ISO 26262 certification

ISO 26262 adds to Lattice’s IEC 61508 certification

Lattice Semiconductor has announced ISO 26262 qualification of its Diamond 2.1 software for road vehicle functional safety. The certification defines a safety compliant methodology for automotive applications throughout the lifecycle of automotive electronics and integrated safety systems.

This ISO 26262 qualification complements Lattice’s existing IEC 61508 functional safety of electrical, electronic and programmable electronic safety-related systems qualification. Both are certified by TÜV Rheinland in Germany, a testing, inspection and certification service.

By adhering to the latest safety design methodology for road vehicles or automotive applications, Diamond 2.1 software can enable a faster time to market and reduce costs in the development of automotive applications.

The Diamond software provides design and implementation tools optimised for cost-sensitive, low-power Lattice FPGA architectures. The software features design exploration, ease of use and rapid design flow.

The functional safety design flow, based on Diamond 2.1, covers product development using FPGAs for design, implementation, integration, verification, validation and production release. Delivering complete automotive development, the software supports automotive grade devices such as the Mach XO, Lattice XP2 and Lattice ECP3.

Mach XO is a non-volatile FPGA that can be used for glue logic connectivity, simpler motor control, and networking such as Lin and Can-FD.

Lattice XP2 is a non-volatile FPGA with DSP blocks and applications ranging from motor control algorithms for powertrain applications to networking and connectivity applications.

Lattice ECP3 brings high-speed serdes capability to automotive devices, which can be used for display controllers, high speed networking (Gigabit Ethernet), motor control, connectivity and adas.
